ViewSonic Moves into the PC Market by Launching VPC100 all-in-one PC

Recently ViewSonic has announced that it decided to move into the PC market and to prove it the company presented the first device from its computing line, the VPC100 all-in-one PC.

ViewSonic states that this is the first gadget from its line of products that will also feature nettops. However, it said that the VPC100 all-in-one PC, which includes an Intel Atom processor, is going to be considered a nettop by most.

It is a very thin PC, being 35mm thick, having a 16:9 19-inch LCD display and being powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor.

Other specs of the VPC100 all-in-one PC:

- 1GB memory;
- 160GB hard drive;
- Ethernet;
- 802.11b/g Wi-Fi;
- 1.3 megapixel webcam;
- DVD drive;
- integrated stereo speakers;
- 4-in-1 card reader.

The device comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and its suggested retail price is GBP 499 ($ 725). It will be available in May 2009.
