Recently ViewSonic has announced that it decided to move into the PC market and to prove it the company presented the first device from its computing line, the VPC100 all-in-one PC. ViewSonic states that this is the first gadget from its line of products that will also feature nettops. However, it said that the VPC100 all-in-one PC, which includes an Intel Atom processor, is going to be considered a nettop by most.
It is a very thin PC, being 35mm thick, having a 16:9 19-inch LCD display and being powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor.
Other specs of the VPC100 all-in-one PC:
- 1GB memory;
- 160GB hard drive;
- Ethernet;
- 802.11b/g Wi-Fi;
- 1.3 megapixel webcam;
- DVD drive;
- integrated stereo speakers;
- 4-in-1 card reader.
The device comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and its suggested retail price is GBP 499 ($ 725). It will be available in May 2009.
