A 512GB SSD Is Toshiba's New Upgrade of its SS RX2 Notebook

May 15, 2009
Toshiba's newly upgraded Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ features Core 2 Duo SU9400 (1.40GHz), 3MB RAM and is available for 398,000 Yen ($ 4,150).

This notebook can boast Intel GS45 Express, DVD Super Multi and a 12.1-inch WXGA LCD and a number of pretty common features like WiFi a/b/g/n, Bleutooth and Gigabit.

But the main aspect of this Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ is a 512GB SSD with quite respectable specs. For instance, it registers a reading speed of 230MB/s and its writing speed achieves the 180MB/s figure.

According to Toshiba, such characteristics make its new laptop 8 times faster than a 5400rmp 2.5-inch HDD.

SSD stands for solid-state drive. The device stores information using solid-state. It is worth mentioning that an SSD imitates a hard disk drive interface, which means that it can easily replace HDD in majority of applications.
