Nvidia Unveils Its New Dual-Core Tegra 2 Multi-Touch Tablet

May 21, 2010
At Google's I/O conference, Nvidia decided to present its brand new dual-core Tegra 2 prototype tablet, which runs Android.

The company's latest device features a 1Ghz Tegra 2 platform which represents a combination of a dual core Cortex A9 ARM-based processor and Nvidia graphics.

It would be interesting to note that the Cortex A9 boasts 25 percent more power than the A8 chip included in the iPad. At the same time more power means less battery life.

In addition, the Tegra 2 tablet includes a 720p HD capacitive multi-touch 8.9-inch (WSVGA) screen, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Webcam and more.

Among other features you will find:

- 2 USB ports;
- SD card slot;
- micro SD card slot;
- SIM card slot for easy 3G access.

It is possible that the Tegra 250 chipset will be also feature in a number of other new tablets, including the Notion Ink Adam and the ICD Ultra.
