Nokia Concept Cell Phone Powered by Coke

Jan 11, 2010
Most cell phone batteries are rather costly and are hard to recycle, which is why designer Daizi Zheng decided to develop a phone that would run on soda.

His concept cell phone for Nokia does not run on traditional rechargeable batteries, it makes use of a bio battery that produces power from carbohydrates.

Although the idea to power devices using sugar is not new, the designer's main idea was that we can power portable gadgets with products we consume everyday.

Besides, using Coke as a power source for gadgets would be much more efficient and effective that consuming it. The bio battery will also be able to hold 3 to 4 times longer than the traditional lithium-ion battery.
