Recently Kodak announced about its idea to penetrate the "actioncam" market. The company presented its brand new compact, shockproof and waterproof HD Playsport video camera. The new camera from Kodak records in full 1080p HD. In addition, Playsport is 3 meters (10 feet) waterproof. It boasts electronic image stabilization and a color LCD viewfinder/playback screen.
You can use the Glare Shield setting if you want to see your pictures in bright sun light. Among other useful features you can find: face-tracking technology, improved low-light performance and the possibility to watch your footage in slow-motion.
The device uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, but there's currently no information on the camera's run time. It is know that if you record at 720p, the Playsport can run for up to 10 hours.
The gadget is Mac-compatible. Its package feature PC-only Arcsoft Media Impression software that you can use to edit your videos, and upload them on YouTube, Facebook and/or Twitter. Kodak's Playsport camera is available in black, blue or purple and can be acquired via Kodak.com for $ 149.95.
