FuseProject Presents Inexpensive Futuristic Tablet PC for Children

Dec 25, 2009
Recently the famous designer Yves Behar presented the design of XO-3, next generation tablet PC developed in collaboration with FuseProject, who a few years ago started its One Laptop Per Child program. The computer is designed for children and its cost is just $ 75.

It is worth mentioning that the 3rd generation OLPC is manufactured from plastic and what is really impressive is that the tablet is semi-flexible. The materials used to create the XO-3 are meant to make the device more resistible so children could use it as long as possible.

Currently the Yves Behar is developing the design of the computer and by 2012 it is expected that the tablet will be ready, costing only $ 75.

The device includes both transmissive and reflective modes that allow the computer to be used indoors and outdoors. Amount other features of the XO-3, it would be interesting to mention:

- the ability to provide a horizontal and vertical reading mode;
- full-touch keyboard;
- games that multiple users can play;
- camera.

The new tablet PC from FuseProject is expected to become a very handy computer that would help kids learn and develop.
