Today you can figure out that someone is calling you on your mobile phone by the hearing the sound of your phone or feeling its vibrations. Thus you involve two senses: the auditory and tactile.

Gaia Phone is a device that aims to becoming very personal to you. It shows you pictures of contacts in the phonebook on its display according to the strength of your relationships. In reality the phone simply displays the contacts according to the number of calls to/from a person.

But now Samsung Company gives us the possibility to watch TV using our cell phones. Recently the company has presented mobile phones Samsung F700 and F510.

Finally Motorola officially presented its brand new Motorola Evoke QA4 mobile phone. The device features a 2.8-inch WQVGA touchscreen.

The phone supports a number messaging styles with a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard.
It has quad-band CDMA connectivity (plus EVDO Rev A). You can take photos using the phone's 2 megapixel camera. Evoke QA4 has a 256MB of internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card slot.

Recently the Dutch electronics giant, Philips, unveiled its Xenium X530 flip phone. In fact, the phone was created by a Chinese company that acquired the mobile division of the Netherlands-based company.

Because the mobile phone is part of the Xenium series, the X530 features a long-lasting battery that offers eight hours of talk time or 850 hours of stand-by time.

The popular Chinese high-tech company, specializing in development and marketing of communication equipment, Huawei Technologies, recently presented its three new cell phone concepts.

The first one features an incorporated USB connector. It doesn't require either adapter or cable. The developers created a USB adapter with a flexible rubber which the user can bend in any desired angle in order to be able to connect it directly to the PC to transmit data and/or recharge the cell phone.

After the rumors which where running through the network last couple of days, Motorola oficially presented its new phone, its full name is Motorola Hint QA30.

At the Mobile World Congress trade show, which took place is Barcelona, companies announced that Skype, software people can use to make phone calls over the Internet, will be iniatially introduced in Nseries smartphones developed by the popular multinational communications corporation Nokia.

It is worth mentioning that the Nseries smartphones run on the company's Symbian S60 operating system.

Previously there were a lot of rumors regarding the new Motorola handset, which was unofficially named ZN300.

Recently the image of the mobile phone itself was revealed online. The image is somewhat blurry due to the fact that there is still skepticism around its authenticity.

Nevertheless, a lot of online sources wrote that the new Motorola features a 240 by 320 pixels display and 3 megapixel camera.

There is still no information regarding the connectivity features of the ZN300. However, it is known that the mobile phone runs the Opera browser.

The Kurzweil/National Federation of the Blind Reading Technology, Inc was used for the first time in Nokia N82. The kReader Mobile system is today available in English, French, German, Dutch, Belgian Dutch, Italian, and Castilian. It can read text messages and then speak a translated version in the native language of the user.

A post on Expansys' staff blog states that Samsung is currently working on the development of 2 brand new Windows Mobile Professional smartphones. One is called Samsung Louve. It looks like an HTC TyTN II, featuring a tilting screen, 3.2mp camera. The other resembles Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia and is dubbed Samsung Pivot. It features a 5 mp camera.

Companies continue to compete for fourth-generation cell phones and service. However the rivalry for speed is less likely to be decided in 2009. This is because of the economic downturn and due to the fact that wireless carriers carry on building out and upgrading 3G networks.
